Update 9/28
Hey Everyone,
Thanks for your support and wanting to know what's going on, we really appreciate it. First I'll give you an update about where we are today then a recap for those of you who don't know what happened.
10/1: Waiting to head tomorrow from Allstate on approval of us moving into a corporate apartment for three months. The great thing is this is four minutes from our house vs. the 25 or so where we are now. And it will save Allstate money and us time, so its a win-win.
9/28: Last night we received our "emergency clean" clothes back. About 225 hangars worth of stuff which equals four hotel carts worth of stuff. Crazy that this is just the emergency stuff!
We have requested an additional room and have one set up if need starting tomorrow. Since we have been in the suite its hard for all of us to not have room to eat, like a table, with Grace on the fold out couch and the table being used for storage.
Hopefully we'll get to go the other route and get corporate housing closer to Libertyville. I'm waiting to hear back from the structural appraiser per working with the cleaning crews (hopefully today, then spring into action). Estimate right now is we will be out 6-8 weeks while they clean.
Our friend the Amedei's have been so great having us over to work during the day when I wasn't in the office and, luckily, the dogs get along really well.
Recap of the fire event:
On September 23rd we all went to see Emily's soccer match and came back to a stove top burning a plastic tray of break that we had on it. The fire was contained to the stove top area but there was soot and smoke everywhere including the bedrooms upstairs thanks the the AC system.
So, we have been out since then and the estimate it it's going to take two months to clean up the place and get us back in there.
